Automated Pilot Parking System (APPS)

APPS Automated Pilot Parking System

Automated, Real-time, Configurable, Integrated, Innovative.

Introducing APPS, the Automated Pilot Parking System, is a newly developed system to help automate the pilot parking sequence into a gate. The system consists of the following features:

» Constant intrusion detection over a large, configurable area.

» Real time distance measurements including aircraft wheel to designated stop bar distance and aircraft skew from designated center line.

» Plane type detection to confirm tower information matches real world.

» Automated integration to Passenger Boarding Bridge control system to provide real time statuses of Air Handler Unit, Ground Power Unit, and Passenger Boarding Bridge.

» LED Screen visible in outdoor conditions to provide gate status to the pilot and ground crew during the parking and exiting sequences.

» Operator Console with Human Machine Interface to provide status updates to pilot during parking sequence, clear existing stop conditions, bypass intrusions, manually set plane types, and view status of system.

» Fault logging, including replay of each parking sequence.

» Maintenance Configuration Tool used for initial setup of each gate.

» Gate configuration setup including boundary lines, center line locations, stop bar locations, plane type to stop bar & center line groupings.

» General configuration setup including units of measurement, image resolution of vision sensors, screen titles, password settings.

» Remote web interface tool capable of providing real time status update of all gates with APPS installed including replay of parking sequences, real-time system status of each gate.

PBB & APPS

KEY ADVANTAGES OF APPS:

» Ability to interface with Passenger Boarding Bridge control system to display pertinent data to pilot and ground crew regarding status of gate. The integration between thePBB & APPS will come with the option of Ethernet or hardwire communication.

» Full coverage monitoring of entire gate perimeter with ability to ignore or detect specificobjects based on plane type and state of parking sequence. Normal blind spots behind the Passenger Boarding Bridge will be detectable with a secondary vision sensor.

» Constant monitoring of perimeter, without any delay or lapses in coverage of configured boundaries.

» Flexibility: The end user will have the ability to use different off the shelf components to replace parts. This will give the end user the ability to select different parts, allowing for cost savings over the life of the system, both during the initial selection and whenever a part may need to be replaced.

» Serviceability: APPS will have detailed messaging for active faults and will allow for a replay of each parking sequence to help with the troubleshooting process. There will also be saved video recordings of each parking sequence. The system will have the ability to bypass intrusions or faults at the discretion of admin or maintenance level users.

» Customization: APPS includes many configuration options to meet all needs of standard operation of the gate parking sequence. If end users require specific functionality for unique circumstances, CLX will partner with them to provide engineered solutions to meet their needs.
